Over the weekend, I realized that my Nike+ runs were not syncing with the nikeplus.com website.
Usually I would hit “Send Run to Nike+”, and after I submitted my username and password on the Nike+ mobile site, I would lock my phone and move on to the next part of my workout.
But this past Saturday, I decided to wait until the site loaded…and it never did.
Instead, it sent me in a continuous login loop that never resulted in my seeing any of my previous runs. And this concerned me…greatly.
When I got home, I attempted to investigate by logging in again, but this time using WIFI.
However, my login attempts were still looping me back to the Nike+ Mobile login screen instead of showing me information on my last run, my goals, and my friends’ runs. It became clear that for the past few months, I wasn’t actually logging in when I thought I was.
As most adults with ADHD know, things that don’t make sense or are out of the norm will drive you up a wall until they do make sense, or they do become the norm.
And after I’d finally resigned from hitting “Login” an abundant number of times, I decided to try something different.
In web development, you learn that if a login error isn’t code or user related, it’s usually browser related. And because my password was correct, and I could login on the Nikeplus.com site just fine using Chrome Browser for iPhone, I decided to look over my Safari settings.
And sure enough, my “Privacy” was set to “Never” Accept Cookies.
Yeah, that’s not going to work.
If that doesn’t work, I don’t know what to tell ya.
Oh wait. I do.
