It’s Election Day in America, and the voting is well underway.
Many people across America are using Social Media to follow along with the Election Day updates. Those who are at work are using Twitter and Foursquare to watch their friends check-in at the polling locations across America.
Want to know how to follow election day 2012?
Well, Twitter has launched an Event Page to curate the most relevant tweets about the election at:
The Twitter team will be monitoring stats throughout the day, and some of those interesting trends will be reflected on Twitter’s Twindex, which ought to indicate whether one policy issue defines the day.
“We believe that in addition to last-second persuasion tweets, you’ll see a lot of … ‘get out the vote’ activity. Twitter has proven to be a remarkable crowd-building tool around the world and I think we’ll see something similar on Election Day here in the U.S.” – Peter Greenberg, Twitter’s head of political advertising.
A quick wrap-up of the week would go something like this…
President Barack Obama conquered.
My President is black.
Wow. That felt really good to type and it sounds really good out loud too. I remember saying that over and over and over again on Tuesday… It was followed by the greatest feeling ever.
I woke up Tuesday and spent most of the day on CNN.com Live. I had both TVs turned to different channels that were broadcasting the Inauguration of President Barack Obama.
I didn’t want to go anywhere…
I didnt want to do anything…
The only thing I wanted to do … was watch and listen.
Oh…what a great day. ^_^
The rest of the week wasn’t really much compared to Tuesday…
But I will say…that I’m happy that the weekend is here.
It couldn’t have come soon enough.
My President is Black.
Yes We Did.
My obama.fresh. Yes We Did shirt from Busted Tees arrived yesterday.
I forgot that I ordered it until I checked the mailbox. I think it arrived when we were on the cruise, but being that I only check the mailbox once a week… eh well… you get the picture.
I don’t know when I’ll wear it, but I’ll be sure to uhh… capture the moment.
Yes we can. Yes we did.
And we were cool, until he asked if he could press the escape button.
Incog does that sometimes too. *shhh*
But, I’m not trippin.
Since he’s the new President Elect, he gets a pass today.
I’m super excited for what this will mean for our country.
And even more excited for what this symbolizes for all African Americans.
Watching the people in Kenya today was really eye opening. They believe we can make a change too. And that really says something.
So, Obama can press all of the buttons he wants today.
It’s ALL good.
Yay Obama. Yay Us.
You can see them from my back patio. It’s kinda cute to watch in the morning.
It’s like being outside with nature…only…you don’t have to smell it. a ha!
If you’re on flickr…you can see the photos…filled with boxes and un-hung artwork and unorganization.
Sorry…but I’m not jumpin up and down about the Lakers. I only liked em when Shaq and Kobe were playing nice.
Gas prices are still a bust. And I hope something good comes out of all this… Karma is a B. Hong Kong is at $5.62 per gallon. What’s going on with the world? God help.
BTW. YAY OBAMA!
Been interviewing personal trainers…might have found a good one, we’ll see. Must get the figa back.
Now that I’m done lifting boxes, my back/neck are feeling the repercussions. Urgh. I need a donut for my neck. Maybe one of those airplane neck rests will work. I’ll just…wear it everywhere.
Lemme catch up on the news…
I received my subscription to HR Magazine today…and underneath that was a receipt for my Blue Shield Health Insurance payment.
Things are so much different now.
I remember when I didnt ever have to see a Blue Shield Insurance anything except for an updated card every few years….working in a job in which it was just taken care of. Now that I’m watching it come out of my wallet every month, it’s so much different.
It makes you reevaluate things…
Do I plan on having kids anytime soon? *Hmm..let me choose a lower plan…*
What happens if there’s an emergency? *Hmm…let’s go one step up*
I mean, I don’t really go to the doctor’s office but 2 or 3 times a year anyways…. *Hmmm…one step down on the plan right there…*
Do I really need this PPO? *sigh*
Can Hillary Clinton really promise universal health care? Michael Moore credited Clinton and Obama with good intentions but suggested they were too influenced by campaign contributions from healthcare interests.
Watching Moore’s moving SiCKO really makes you look at things differently…
Even if Hillary or Obama are elected…will health care really change that much? And if so…how?
I guess I’m just curious…
*thinking – Maybe I should take this plan down a step…*CONTINUE READING
