    Brain Overload. IE6 must die.

By Courtney | In Girl Geek | on October 15, 2008

The work ethic has been non-stop, with lulls long enough to shower and eat, and end the day with a round of House Hunters on HGTV.

It could almost be considered sad.
    But I’m on a mission.

With the Bahamas trip coming up the first week of November, the goal is to make sure that all projects are closed, or on track for completion the following week… and that all invoices have been paid.

I’m sooo ready for a vaca.

Yesterday, I spent a few hours dealing with design / browser compatibility for IE6. I wanted to scream.

    IE6 must die.

It needs to die. WHY even bother using it now that IE 7 is out? Is it that your network administrator is too lazy to do the network wide upgrade? Is it that you refuse to step out of your shell and try IE7? The only reason I mention IE 7 is because I know how difficult it will be for you to grasp Firefox. Internet Explorer shouldn’t even really be an option, but alas…since Microsoft monopolized the market and 9 times out of 10, you’ll have some version of Internet Explorer already installed on your factory computer, I know that for you… it’s easier to deal than to upgrade. My brain hurts.

Alright, let me get back to work…
    Still praying for Mojo…

IE6 is such a pain! I was trying to design me a profile page, and everywhere except IE6,it worked fine.Spent an hour trying to figure out why IE6 screwed up my page so bad,I realized,CSS comments! Sure enough, there you have it.It’s got to die.It simply has.
      cheers

Some people just don’t know better. We get so used to what we know that we can’t imagine trying something new.

I left IE a little more than a year ago and never turned back.

      FIREFOX FOREVER!

I sure do hope that you get everything together before your trip.

I hate internet explorer with a passion. I remember there was a time when I refused to switch over to firefox but now that I have, I’ve never turned back to internet explorer.

People should be ashamed and beat down (Lord forgive me…) for using IE6, designers should stop supporting it, period. However I guess it must take Bill Gates himself to basically stop using IE6. Hell even i don’t use IE7..I use Safari (for Windows), my stuff just looks better.

The Bahama’s, fierce trip. Take lots of pictures and rest up you’re well deservant of a vacay!

I totally understand your frustration with IE6 as I go through it too. It took me a long time to switch over to FF, I switched over about 2 years ago now I can’t live with out my FF with my Firebug addon….
